Alexander Hamilton
Alexander Hamilton was an American Founding Father, military officer, and the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury (1789–1795), where he established the nation's financial system. He was a major author of the Federalist Papers and founded the Federalist Party, advocating for a strong central government. Born in the British West Indies, he died at age 47 or 49 after being killed in a duel with political rival Aaron Burr.
