Aleksandra Mir

Aleksandra Mir (born 1967 in Lublin, Poland) is a Swedish-American contemporary artist renowned for her large-scale collaborative projects employing anthropological methods such as archival research, oral history, and fieldwork. Her work explores themes including travel, time, placehood, language, gender, identity, nationality, globality, mobility, performativity, representation, transition, translation, and transgression. She has participated in over 370 exhibitions across 40 countries, with works in major museum collections, and holds dual citizenship of Sweden and the United States.
