Alejandro Sandoval Avila

Alejandro Sandoval Ávila was a Mexican poet, novelist, essayist, and children's literature author born in Aguascalientes in 1957. He studied Hispanic Philology at the University of Havana in Cuba and received major awards including the Poesía Joven de México prize, the Premio Nacional de Poesía Ramón López Velarde, and the Premio El Barco de Vapor. His work often reflects themes related to Cuba, Aguascalientes, Mexican myths and traditions, and the value of children's literature and Mexican poetry.
