Aleister Crowley
Aleister Crowley (born Edward Alexander Crowley) was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, novelist, mountaineer, and painter who founded the religion of Thelema, identifying himself as the prophet of the Æon of Horus. Born into a wealthy Plymouth Brethren family, he rebelled against his strict religious upbringing, embracing occultism, magick, and a notorious lifestyle that earned him the title 'the wickedest man in the world.' A prolific writer and adventurer, he influenced modern occultism despite being denounced in his time.
