Alastair Reid

Alastair Reid was a Scottish poet and scholar of South American literature known for his lighthearted style and translations of Jorge Luis Borges and Pablo Neruda. He led a peripatetic life, living in various locations including Mallorca, Spain, New York, and the Dominican Republic, while contributing regularly to The New Yorker. Reid died in Manhattan in 2014 at age 88.
