Alan White
Alan White (1924–2003) was an English novelist and journalist who drew on his experiences as a Second World War commando leader in his thrillers, often set in war contexts.[1][2] His best-known work is *A Long Day's Dying* (1962), and he wrote under pseudonyms including James Fraser, Alec Haig, Alec Whitney, and Joe Balham, the latter for novels based on *The Sweeney* TV series.[1][2] Of science fiction interest is *Black Alert* (1985), a near-future technothriller.[2]
