Alan Gould

Alan Gould, born in London in 1949, is an Australian novelist and poet of English-Icelandic background who emigrated from England to Australia in 1966. After studying at the Australian National University and working various jobs including relief teaching, he became a full-time writer in 1975, publishing numerous novels and poetry collections. His works have earned prestigious awards such as the New South Wales Premier's Prize for Poetry (1981), the National Book Council Banjo Award for Fiction (1992), and the Grace Leven Prize for Poetry (2006).
