Alan C. Bovik

Alan C. Bovik is a distinguished professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where he holds the Cockrell Family Regents Endowed Chair and directs the Laboratory for Image and Video Engineering (LIVE). He is a renowned expert in visual neuroscience and video engineering, known for developing groundbreaking algorithms for image texture modeling, quality assessment, and video integrity evaluation, including the SSIM and VIF indices. Bovik is an IEEE Fellow and recipient of numerous awards, including the 2022 IEEE Edison Medal and a 2015 Primetime Engineering Emmy Award.
