Alain Crosnier (1930-2021) was a French marine biologist and crustacean researcher internationally renowned for his scientific accomplishments and organizational skills. He conducted extensive surveys of deep-sea fisheries resources, particularly shrimp, and discovered numerous new species during offshore explorations to depths of 1,000 meters.
