Agnes Smith

Agnes Smith Lewis (1843–1926) was a Scottish scholar, traveller, and Orientalist best known for her work on Semitic languages, especially Arabic, Syriac, and Christian Palestinian Aramaic. Along with her twin sister Margaret Dunlop Gibson, she became one of the best-known self-taught women scholars of the Victorian era.[1][3][7]
