Adriaan T. Peperzak

Adriaan T. Peperzak is a Dutch philosopher, educator, and author specializing in the works of Hegel and Emmanuel Levinas, as well as ethics, social philosophy, metaphilosophy, and philosophy of religion. Born in Malang, Java, Indonesia, in 1929 as a Dutch citizen, he studied philosophy and theology in the Netherlands and Belgium, earning a licentiate from Louvain University and a PhD from the Sorbonne in 1960 with a dissertation on Hegel directed by Paul Ricoeur. He taught at numerous universities worldwide, including in the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, France, Indonesia, and the US at institutions such as Duquesne University, Pennsylvania State University, Loyola University Chicago, Villanova University, Boston College, and Stanford University, and served as president of the Hegel Society of America from 2010 to 2012.[1][2][3]
