Adolf Von Harnack

Adolf von Harnack (1851-1930) was a prominent Baltic German Lutheran theologian and church historian, renowned as a leading figure in liberal theology during the German Empire. He held professorships in church history at universities including Leipzig, Giessen, Marburg, and Berlin from 1876 onward, authored seminal works like 'The History of Dogma,' and served as the first president of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society from 1911 until his death. Additionally, he directed the Prussian State Library and was ennobled in 1914.
