A. Stern

Steve J. Stern (born 1947) is an American author from Memphis, Tennessee, whose fiction is deeply inspired by Yiddish folklore and the Pinch, a vanished Jewish ghetto in his hometown.[1][3] He has published numerous books including *The Frozen Rabbi* (2010) and *The Book of Mischief* (2013), earning awards such as two Pushcart Prizes, an O. Henry Award, and a National Jewish Book Award.[3][4] Stern taught for 30 years at Skidmore College as Writer-in-Residence and splits his time between Brooklyn and Ballston Spa, New York.[4]
