Angelique Kerber is a retired German professional tennis player who rose to prominence with a semifinal run at the 2011 US Open and broke into the WTA Top 10 in 2012.[1][3] In 2016, she achieved her peak by winning the Australian Open and US Open, becoming world No. 1, and earning WTA Player of the Year honors.[2][3] Kerber won 14 WTA singles titles before retiring after the 2024 Paris Olympics following maternity leave.[2][3]
