A. B. C Whipple

Addison Beecher Colvin 'Cal' Whipple (1918–2013) was an American journalist, editor, historian, and author specializing in maritime history. Born in Glens Falls, New York, he graduated from Yale University in 1940 and Harvard with an M.A., worked at Time/Life magazines in various editorial roles, and authored books like 'Fighting Sail' and 'The Mysterious Voyage of Captain Kidd.' He retired in 1975 and died in Greenwich, Connecticut, at age 94.[1][2]
