Edward Albee was an American playwright known for sharply drawn, often unsettling dramas that examined truth, illusion, and interpersonal conflict. He is best known for works such as "The Zoo Story" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?", and he won three Pulitzer Prizes for drama.[2][3][11]
