After bouncing from one foster home to the next for most of her childhood, Lyla is finally happy with her life as a NYC psychic. She has a job, friends, and a very close best friend/sometime lover. But her life is upended when she finds out that everything she believes about her past, her family, and her place in the world is a lie, and that her entire life has been orchestrated by creatures she never even knew existed. But before she can take her place in a world in which gods and angels are an everyday reality, she will have to face her traumatic past and learn how to grieve and move on.
