THE SEA AGAIN is a book of poems about the recurrence of natural power in our lives, of seeing the Atlantic ocean for the first time in a few months, or a couple of years, and being astonished at what you have forgotten, the endless movement while you are standing still, the power and sound of the waves while your mind is silent, the absolute sense of space, more space than you ever imagined, while you, the watcher, occupy only a small portion of it, along with families, surfers, fishermen and other watchers, all facing the great ocean together, pulled out of yourselves into the great current that surrounds the world, now and until the end of time.

Dugan's clarity should never be mistaken for simplifying; he does not take things for granted. Places, and the things you find in and around them, are remembered and often keenly reexamined in his poetry. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Lawrence Dugan has published poetry in Arion, Cyphers, Daedalus, First Things, National Review, The Irish Edition, The New Republic, The Spectator, Tar River Poetry, and The Threepenny Review, among other journals and magazines. He was born in New York City, and has lived most of his life in Philadelphia, where he attended Roman Catholic High School, and Temple, Villanova and Drexel Universities.
