NOT THE SAME is designed to help children cope with the loss of their home, toys and friends, which can be a very traumatic and upsetting event for a child, and to understand their feelings. Ollie, the hero of the book, is a little turtle who gets caught in a tornado; a metaphor for the chaos children often experiences when they have to leave home behind. He finds himself in a different neighbourhood, where he eventually makes a new home and new friends. Since stories are such a large part of childhood, and children usually have such vivid and creative imaginations, I hoped that the children would identify with the story and become engrossed in the therapeutic metaphors developed specifically for them. In this way, the story could help resolve interpersonal issues and promote mental health in children.Unfortunately, because of the current war in Ukraine, I believe this story is more relevant than ever to the children fleeing Ukraine, and I hope my book can help them to process their loss. The story is suitable for children between the ages of between 3-7 years
