There was a time when shrimping the Gulf Sea was a way of life for many shrimpers and especially for the shrimp boat captains that had with their deckhands shrimped the Gulf of Mexico from the coastal regions from Freeport Texas to the far coastal regions of Florida. My dad was a shrimp boat captain for many years from Bayou La Batre, Alabama to Freeport, Texas some believe that shrimping gets in the blood. I do believe many hard-core shrimpers like my dad must had seawater mixed with blood flowing within their veins. Come journey back in time with me as I rewind the past to go back to a way of life that will never be again for the shrimping industry as it once had been so long ago.
