A story of a boy born on a small hilltop village in Malta, who at seven years of age following his mother's death, left his home and country and along with his father and younger brother, travelled to England. Both boys spent the following six years living in a Boys' Home administered by the Catholic Church. At the age of thirteen, his father remarried; the family, including a new stepbrother, emigrated to Canada and began life anew.
