CHAPTER ONELouis Parkinson tiptoed quietly unto the porch of his house. He silently prayed that his folks were already asleep. He closed the door, but as much as he tried, the old, wooden frame creaked."Oh Lord!" He swallowed, successfully closing it with one creak. He dreaded what he was going to see as soon as he turned around, and he heaved a sigh of relief as soon as he did. Nobody was in the living room.He dropped his backpack on the couch, concluding his family had gone to sleep. He wasn't sure what the time was because his phone was dead, and the wristwatch he had on his left wrist was just for decoration; but he knew one thing surely, he was way past his bedtime.Louis opened the fridge the minute he entered the kitchen. He took out a box of milk, shook it to be sure it still remained, opened it and drank its content. The light in the house was off, except for the one from the refrigerator.
