Latonya grew up the second oldest of seven siblings living in Tifton, Georgia. As a child, she was a good student, attended church regularly and had hopes of someday becoming a detective or a lawyer. As a child, Latonya experienced the uneasiness of growing up in the midst of domestic violence, which would later lead to her parents divorcing. Latonya herself became a high school dropout after giving birth to her first son at age 17. "I just lived a fast life after that," she said, adding that she dated a drug dealer and was drawn to the life of "Fast Money."
