Meet Captain Science! Or at least meet Gordon Dane, the eminent 1950s scientist who fights for good and the safety of the galaxy using not his superpowers - he has none - or his muscles - which he does have. No, Captain Science does his do-gooding using the power of Science and his brain. Actually, he uses not only his own brain but a better 'mechanical brain' which was given to him by an alien in a crashed saucer in the New Mexico desert (not at Roswell!) who also dubbed him 'Captain Science'. The Captain part is not exactly clear since Gordon is not in the Army or Navy or Police and he isn't the captain of a ship. But whatever. Captain it is. Captain Science is joined in his nebulous mission to make the Galaxy a nicer place by his teen-age assistant, Rip Gary. Rip is Gordon's pupil and protégé who has been taken in by Gordon. I'm not really sure of Rip's backstory but I suppose he's an orphan or something. At any rate, nowhere in the Captain Science adventures do we hear about Rip's parents calling up and asking where he is and what he's doing. Soon after on one of their early missions, Captain Science and Rip infiltrate the headquarters of the dread Illuminati where Captain Science is freed from captivity by Luana, the beautiful daughter of one of the Illuminati. Luana turns her back on the evil ways of her father and after helping blow up their evil headquarters, she joins Gordon and Rip at their secret headquarters as part of the team. Frankly, she doesn't do much except lounge around the lab in tight skimpy outfits, frequently needing rescuing by the two of them. But she serves her purpose, I guess. Captain Science had all of his adventures between 1950 and 1952. You hold in your hands his complete adventures. Enjoy!
