I had been working for a utilities provider in a full-time permanent position for 18 years when I finally decided enough is enough. My wife and I had recently started having a family and if I had to be away from home, it needed to be important - unfortunately, a lot of the things I did in my 9 to 5 job were just not that important to me anymore.
