THE UNCHANGING WORD: A Devotional Commentary and Meditation on the Bible

This book, The Unchanging Word, by Fr. Emmanuel Okami truly emphasizes the truth that the Word of God is unchanging. The author further confirms through his explications therein, that the interpretation of the Word continues to unfold. Employing an easy-to-read style, Fr. Okami passes the message of the Word of God in a very simple way, which makes it easy to understand. Needless to say, the commentary on each pericope is quite didactic, teaching practical lessons about our relationship with God and one's neighbours. Indeed, since it is very often important to go back in time in order to understand the present and understand how to work out the future, references from the Old Testament are used to better explain what the various Gospel sections try to pass across. It would not be out of place to label this book with a subtitle such as, 'Emanations from Profound Reflections'. The scripture says, Taste and see that the Lord is good. Furthermore, the taste of the pudding is in the eating. A bite of this book truly calms the reader and positions the mind to feel the presence and touch of the Word of God, Jesus Himself.. Fr.
