Have you occasionally, or frequently for some, feel a sense of discontentment in your life without being able to pin the exact reason? How about feeling a sense of inadequacy despite attaining many things in life? Have you wondered why seemingly negative things happen to you? Or that you don't feel like you are in complete control of your major life objectives? These are common questions many of us are beset upon and we ponder over them throughout our adult life and yet I can say with some certainty that only a few of us are lucky enough to actually get to realize the answers before we die.. The modern societies we live in are not short on threats and challenges. The modern workplace is not much different from battle grounds; we get bombarded with toxic munitions from seemingly smiling faces behind benign cubicles. Bosses impose demanding performance targets for business profits requiring energy consumption well in excess of what our brain and body can practically generate daily. Our energy output far exceeds our energy input. It is a virulent recipe for stress and burnout. Even mechanical engines heat up when over utilized, what more our biological bodies with its limited energy production and store. So we need to learn how to optimize our energy consumption especially that of the brain, to be able to keep up with, let alone excel in, the competitive and fast-paced work environment.. Many of us have operationally sub-optimal minds and that is the main reason why we struggle with stress on a daily basis. Even when we leave the stressful work environment, the stress overstays and lingers in our mind, accompanying us well into our home and social environment. Although we can blame our stress on other people or on the environment we are unfortunate enough to be trapped in, stress is actually spawned in our mind because of the nature and programming of our mind. In other words it is relative; against the same event or outcome, some people may feel more stress and others may feel less stress. Hence, it is not unreasonable to conclude that many people keep drowning in chronic stress because they have not realized how to manage their mind to better address external stresses. The only cure here is to be able to appropriately reprogram our mind to be able to address the causes of stress at source, and not simply soothing the superficial symptoms.. An important thing to note about this book is that it is not about turbo-charging your brain to Einsteinian glory, but instead it attempts to provide you with guides on managing your own brain, with its own peculiar strengths and weaknesses, to coax it into a state of positivity that will allow you to achieve the best of you, every day, physically, mentally and emotionally. Being in that positive state will keep your mind open to many opportunities and at the same time prevent you from making poor decisions that may take you significant time and resources to undo.. Mother Nature created only one of you (even if you are a twin) and she designed for you to be operated only by you. The probability of you being born into this world is about one in a trillion. In other words, a trillion related things must occur successfully before you can occur. A trillion! And you have no qualms getting by your entire life and approaching death without attempting to be the very best you can be? What would you say to Mother Nature if she appears at your death bed and smilingly asks you what have you accomplished with the special gift she entrusted you, after running around doing a trillion things successfully for you? It is very important that we do not approach our old age flooded in regrets for living an aimless life, endlessly victimized in uncontrolled tides of happiness and sorrow, distressing along being borderline contented.. So go ahead, Enlighten your Mind and Operate it to the Max!
