THE SECOND COMINGBefore Christ's died, He shared with His disciples about the catastrophic coming events they would encounter as He sat on the Mount of Olives. Then, not soon after His ascension, into heaven, on a cloud, those devastating events that He foretold would happen began to unfold.. And the Jews' matters increased daily, and the early Christians' miseries and cruelties grew continuously. But somehow, with an inward joy, the Christians never wavered in their faith but trusted God, even in the midst of clear and present danger. But instead, with resilience, they pursued forward with purpose and persevered every test, being mission-minded for the Kingdom of God.. And as a result of their faithfulness, to spread the gospel, the church became numerous.. And the early Christians continue to watch, looking forward to that great day, The Day of The Lord, that moment, that second, the hour, for the opening of heaven. And the majestic, glorious appearance, of the King of Glory, the Lord Saviour, Jesus Christ, arriving, coming down on clouds of heaven, for The Second Coming.. David said, He opened the heavens and came down; dark storm clouds were beneath His feet. Mounted on a mighty angelic being, He flew, soaring on the wings of the wind. (Psalms 18:9-10 NLT) . So, let us prepare our hearts and minds for The Second Coming of Christ, by being faithful servants, mission-minded for the Kingdom of God. By commissioning others through the transformation of the Gospel (Good news) to do the same.. Christ has commanded us to Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even until the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20 KJV) . For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10 KJV) . So, as The Second Coming of the Lord draws nearer, we must not allow anyone, nor anything, to deter us from doing God's will. But we must continue to be a servant, working for the Kingdom of God..
