Twilight of a Hero and Other Works on Rizal

The book deals with certain points in Jose Rizal's life--his return to the homeland after years of sojourn in Europe; the different events and situations that incited him to write his books; the living conditions that he suffered and endured while writing his books; the different women in his life; the love of his life--Leonor Rivera--and the events and circumstances that led to their separation and her subsequent marriage to a foreigner; his life with Josephine Bracken; and finally his execution at the Luneta. The book touches more on the emotional aspect of the above events. It gives us a glimpse of the human side of Jose Rizal, the hero.
