Knowledge management (KM) involves any activity related to the capture, use, and sharing of knowledge by an organization. This work reports on the results of the first systematic international survey on knowledge management carried out by national statistical offices in Canada, Denmark, France, and Germany. The survey sought to build a database on KM practices, link KM databases with data coming from other sources, and contribute to the standardization of terminology related to KM practices. The report offers case studies and country reports, summarizes best practices, and discusses policy implications of the survey results. The book is co-published with Statistics Canada. There is no subject index. Annotation 2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
