Religion has been an integral part of humanity and have had immense influence on people, since it came into existence. Different religious traditions contributed tremendously, to the evolution of the societies in every country and the world in general. The Indian subcontinent is the biological mother of Hinduism , Buddhism ,Jainism and Sikhism and adopted many other faiths including the living four such as Christianity , islam ,judaism and Zoroastrianism as its own with great spiritual humility .Faith determines thoughts and attitude about life ,which in turn direct actions and actions creates destiny. The aim of religious philosophy is to teach , guide and prepare its disciples to live an ethical, enriched and compassionate life, mentally, physically and spiritually. Thus help and lead the followers to reach the ultimate spiritual destiny of liberation or salvation. Religion has been explained as a pursuit of belief followed with great devotion in simple terms by dictionaries and defined at length by the sages ,prophets and founders of religions as revelations of God, teachings or philosophies . Neither the meaning nor the essence of religion has been understood by many ,who swear to be the ardent adherent of their religion. Knowing everything about any religion is not as easy as chest thumping of faith, for the simple reason that religions are as complex as the human mind ,trying to grasp it. People should have clear knowledge about the basic principles of their religion ,at least .Some people think that just being a believer or taking God's name alone is enough and thats what their religion teaches.Its not enough in this times of religious confusion, conflicts and extremism .One got to know the principles of their religion , in order to be an informed believer, got to know what is their God stands for before taking that name and indulging into any action by its sake or as directed by someone.Hollow rituals will not make you a devout worth of any religion.Know your religion and practice it as it should be and in accordance with the times you live.Make your religious devotion, a spiritually meaningful experience rather than a mere exercise to get rewards or miracles from God , during or after life. Every religion teaches to live a well meaning and content life . Only if you live that meaningful life ,you can attain Mukti or Moksha or liberation or salvation or heaven, the ultimate spiritual destination.Hurting each other wouldn't help anyone achieve anything. Dismiss the devil and embrace the God.
