Jonah and God's Love is a retelling of the events described in the Book of Jonah which can be found in the Bible. It is a beautiful love story that demonstrates God's kindness, mercy and patience towards mankind. This story tells how God wants all of us to be obedient to His command and to turn away from practicing evil. It further shows God's willingness to forgive our sins if we humble ourselves before Him and repent. The story prophetically points to the time of Jesus Christ, who has the power to forgive and save anyone who wholeheartedly believes He died on the cross for the sins of the world and took upon Himself the punishment we deserved, sparing us like He spared Nineveh. The story most clearly provides a sign of Jesus with the time Jonah spent in the depths of the sea hidden inside the belly of a great fish. Similarly, after paying the ultimate price for our salvation, Jesus spent three days and three nights in the grave before rising back to life on the third day. This story finally acts as a reminder of God's love for us and His will for us to show love to one another as Christ loved us. John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
