Teaching Children of Color: Seven Constructs of Effective Teaching in Urban Schools

Teaching Children of Color was produced to support teachers and teacher educators serious about student and teacher education. The Seven Constructs in the book offer insight into instruction that exposes teachers and their students to an internal view of teaching and learning--a view inherently different from the one teachrs and students currently experience. This book establishes a comprehensive and integrated framework for thinking about teaching and learning for a new millennium. It draws a direct relationship between what teachers and teacher educators need to know in order to develop productive personal and professional responsiveness that meets students' needs, realities, and cultures.
