I was seven the summer I travelled to Ireland with my brother and sister. Determined I was, to discover the identity of the tall-man, a ghost who appeared to Dad when he was my age - making Dad proud was a priority. Soon upon arrival, the whispering started. Hushed voices hinted of harmful secrets. Secrets that threatened to derail my search for a ghost I had to find, whatever the cost. Secrets and Styes is a coming-of-age memoir, set in an Ireland many think has long gone. But no, remnants always remain.
