Welcome to Haunting Tales, recorded during "Literally, a Haunted House," produced each October to raise funds for The Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site in New Albany, Indiana. In 1867, for about $120,000, William S. Culbertson built his three-story, twenty-five room home. With its hand-painted ceilings, carved rosewood staircase, and marble fireplaces, his home re-flected his affluence. After his death in 1892, the mansion and its contents were sold. A series of owners painted white paint over the hand-painted ceilings and boarded up rooms. Since 1985 this annual event, rated a "Top 10 Halloween Haunted House" in *USA Today* 1991, generates funds to restore the mansion to its Victorian era glory. While brave souls wait to enter the 'haunted' carriage house, many visit the formal parlor to hear spooky stories which could have been told in Victorian days. *Haunting Tales*, recorded over a series of haunted house evenings, features stories t
