After spending two years in the trenches, Henry Lett throws himself into the social whirl of the twenties, but when he finds out his father is dying he knows it is time to take over as head of Letts, the famous London restaurant. Mary Owen is seeking work, and she catches the eye of Will, a young waiter at Letts, who persuades the head chef to employ Mary in the kitchen.
