Approaching thirty, Rosemary Hemmington concludes that her biggest relationship of the past few years has been with her job. In need of a break, she leaves the warmth of her native Brisbane for the cool, lush greenery of Ireland. There, in her hotel, she sees an intriguing wartime portrait of three child bridesmaids. Fascinated by the portrait, little does Rosemary know how inextricably her romantic fate is linked with it. The Three Bridesmaids is a story of broad horizons and dazzling landscapes; a story of good food, good times and of many different lives. Above all, it is a story of how one woman finds love - a whole new kind of life - in the most unexpected of places. Brenda Alice Wild was born in Thornton, West Yorkshire to an English mother and Australian father. She was educated at Gregory Girls' School. Married in 1964, with husband and daughter, Brenda moved to Adelaide, Australia in 1969. She began writing after retirement. She has two daughters and five grandchildren.
