Forgiven, Cleansed, Groomed, and Restored: The Prodigal's Journey Home

Straying down the wrong path is easy, we've all done it - willingly in most cases. The slide down Transgression Hill is fun and exciting. Eventually, however, we hit bottom with a bone jarring smack. Then what? Admitting mistakes and seeking forgiveness are the beginning of the healing process and the first step of the Prodigal's journey home. It's a humble walk shadowed with heartbroken emotion, character building obstacles, and life changing adjustments. But at the same time, it's filled with joy, peace, and love. The Prodigal's walk back is a four part process. Each phase shapes and molds within us a new heart, a stronger faith, and a deeper love for God. The phases are: FORGIVEN of sin CLEANSED by the Holy Spirit GROOMED to live in the light of God's promise RESTORED as a new creation Take hope! The road is not walked alone. The minute the Prodigal cries out for forgiveness, God wraps his arms around his wayward child and says, "Welcome home."
