The first edition of this underground comic magazine: "Pot Comix #0" (aka "Tex Watt's Pot Comix") , started out, in the mid 1990s, as a B & W satrical/fantasy (ashcan) mini-comic (or, 'Zine) , in the mythical city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This (now quarterly published anthology ) graphic novel series; started as a limited issue 'mature' comic-book, showcasing the stand-alone adventure tale ( from a first-act chapter) , of story creator Watt's unmade feature movie screenplay: "CODE NAME: KING", published in this issue's adventure story, 'The Capture'; with the protagonist, being a former Southern U.S. rock star/secret militia agent, with a secret code-name, called named "King".". As well, the same issue introduces an edgy funny-animal tale, about a furry, female 'anthropomorphic cosmic mercenary', named: Spacey La Skonke. When asked why he would lable the first book issue #0 -- Watt stated he was not sure if there would be any future issues(if the project did not sell) ...it did (until Watt lost interest, to pursue 'schlock' exploitation filmmaking & acting) ! This premiere , 2nd edition, that you now hold in your eager, sweaty fingersalso shows Tex's influence and mood of the times, with wry '80s/'90s action movie violence; mixed with kooky Saturday Morning Cartoon humor. Also, as well as showcasing gritty Image Comics-type graphical influence and big-hair band rock & roll 'Teenage Mutant Turtle'/'Cerebus'-styled ambiance ( 1970 & '80's t.v. tough guy wise-cracks, melded with epic toungue-in-cheek 'film noire-ish' Sin City/graphic novel story-telling [with a funny animal warrior protagonist]) , as well as a sly wink to Fr '70s ench Fantasy magazines : 'Pilote' & 'Metal Hurlant' (& 1960s & 70s USA 'underground comix') . Canada's infamous TWI Studio Filmmaker/Actor/Illustrator & Author: Tex Watt's upcoming issues will have new mature sci-fi/fantasy cartoon stories, and again includes (along with fiesty side-kick: Dildroid) 'Spacey La Skonke's Far-out, Cosmic Adventures!' future chapters -- this dark humored (anthropomorphic) funny animal epic sci-fi/ fantasy tale, will again feature the attractive (very grown-up) , skimpily clad, homicidal half-skunk, ( hemped-up heroine in a 'half-thong') military contractor, ; turned re-programmed mutant space-nurse: :Spacey La Skonke; who's future adventures, will take the lead stance, upcoming, in Watt's mega-addictive Pot Comix's anthology series!. - TWI MEDIA , Hollyweird, Toronto.
