The Age of Innocence

The Age of Innocence describes a world of strict social conventions of the New York upper class of the late nineteenth century. Framed in a triangle where each character appears very well defined, with environments and precise descriptions, giving way to a conflict between appearances, riches and customs of high society.This novel places us in the period of 1870 within a wealthy family of New York society, his argument is developed between a gentleman of the upper middle class who is committed, but to know the cousin of his girlfriend life will change. Trapped by his feelings and the morality of high society, he develops an internal drama between the antagonism of two women and their love for them.
