"The Taring Down of America" explores the state of the Evangelical Church in today's society. No doubt we have seen exponential numerical growth over the past 4 decades but at what cost? This book examines the results of the deliberate, and not so deliberate, changes that have been made to the modern day worship service. There is an obvious result in the watering down of the gospel and the lack of full Bible preaching and it shows in the state of the culture today. Righteousness is viewed as bigotry, hatred and down right wrong, while evil and wickedness is applauded. The author offers colorful metaphors and real examples of how the church ended up here and how it can once again be a beacon of light in the world as it once was. The verse-by-verse Bible preaching/teaching method is all but extinct in the congregations nationwide. Instead, there is a cherry picking of the Word and a buffet style of preaching that egregiously has infiltrated our pulpits. "The Taring Down of America" explores the relationship between decades of Christianity light and the current results that are displayed on every newscast of every night. Evil has not increased! There is no more wickedness in the world than that which existed the day after the Fall. It is the scarcity of the truth that has created the rise in evil. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing" Edmund Burke This quote has never been more evident than it is today. This work will lay out the problems within the church, offer reasons how we got here, and provide a radical suggestion to do the work that the Church was commissioned to do and has largely failed over the past few decades. The Lord always leaves a remnant for His will and His Word to be present despite the wickedness that permeates any culture of any age. This author believes that verse-by-verse Bible preaching/teaching in an expositional format is the most effective way to properly equip the saints of God for all the world would throw at them today and all that is coming tomorrow. The remnant of today is going to be the believers who adhere to 100% of all of God's Word and teaches others to do so as well. This book is a refreshing and sobering look at what happens when any culture, church or nation tries to increase itself on any level by removing the Word of God. One cannot increase ones influence or power by decreasing the Word of God!
