All is not well in the medieval Kingdom of Palogonia. Princess Xena has been placed in captivity by the wicked Queen Ventenil; Xena's children, Axle and Imogena, are unaware of their mother's very existence. Prince Gandolf is still away at the Crusades, and no one knows when he will return. Luckily, help is at hand, in the shape of a time-travelling teenager from Liverpool with a plucky attitude and a knack with computer games. Under the guidance of 'Astrid', a mysterious speaking book which enables time travel, and Gerald, a kindly tutor, Billy begins a thrilling and unpredictable quest to defeat Queen Ventenil and her accomplice, the wicked witch, Gayla, for ever.
