Unconfirmed Certainties "is the intersection of suspicion and intuition." Act One follows Harris' year-long documentation and in-process recovery from a mental breakdown, including the flashbacks and suicidal ideation that coincided with a devastating, unexpected romantic breakup and facing, head-on, a C-PTSD diagnosis. Act Two is a collection of Harris' most requested slam poetry writings. An outspoken advocate for, among many things, an accessible mental health system, Harris fought to overturn the misdiagnosis of Bipolar II disorder, which she received at age 15 as a way to "medicate away her queerness and creative spirit." Due primarily to financial accessibility limitations oppressing all impoverished, underserved communities by the current health care system, this endeavor took Harris nearly 20 years to accomplish. She describes her current participation in trauma therapy under the guidance of an EMDR-certified therapist, "the deepest exhale."
