This story portrays a man, William Franklin, and an Internet journalist, Michelle Leigh. Leigh writes in the area of genetics and is trying to find where a genius genetics engineer has gone. Franklin works for the FBI and as undercover to the CIA. He is a legendary former Navy SEAL and consummate warrior. Leigh's discovery of some illegal US activities leads her and Franklin to Manning's Island, where they discover much more clandestine activity. The CIA, through the involvement of several SEALs, leads them to the ambassador's plantations, the Venezuelan jungles, through several engagements with the enemy (including fearsome chimeras) , and finally to a showdown against a great number of "security forces" both on the island and the plantation. The White House desires a resolution to this matter but wants to deny any involvement because of the great relationship with Costa Rica and other nations in that part of the world. Captain Franklin has been promoted to major and has been named the commander of the forces needed to accomplish the mission
