The Large Print 2009 The Devil's Punchbowl finds entrepreneur Penn Cage trying to restore Natchez, Mississippi to a jewel of the Old South by establishing casino gambling on five steamboats. The most popular is the Magnolia Queen and, like Las Vegas, it draws players whom share a taste for vices and violence. When a friend brings this to Penn's attention, the confidant is brutally murdered. Penn teams with a former lover Caitlin Masters, Penn's father and others to solve the crime.
