PreS–The popular French character Floup makes a U.S. appearance as Floop, and he promises to be as appealing to his new audiences. The small, indeterminate type of animal wears a full-body polka-dotted suit and has several animal friends who join him in his adventures. In Laundry, Floop accidentally falls into a tub of water and finds a creative solution to dry himself: he hangs by his overalls on the clothesline. In Dark, Floop is awakened during the night by a noise and is sure there's a monster in his room. Flowers sees him getting distracted on the way to buy a centerpiece to prepare for his friends' visit. The little creature must come to the rescue in Umbrella when his friends are caught in a rainstorm. The richly colored illustrations on minimal backgrounds, along with Floop's expressive face, add to the charm of these small books.
