The usual material in a sports-team history is covered here in this title about the New York Yankess. The chapters include World Series appearances, short biographies, and statistics. The field of sports-team histories is crowded. This title stands out with its aggressive integration of the book's content with the Internet. Young readers are encouraged to go the publisher's special Web site and find links to sites such as the Baseball Hall of Fame. This approach, however, leads to some overkill, as many of the illustrations are actually the home pages of the encouraged sites. There's no doubting the appeal of the Internet as a source for reports, and the suggested sites are active and, for the most part, kid accessible. Still, many young readers will probably find that the book's content provides enough material for their reports, and they will end up wishing for more pictures of players and fewer snaps of home pages.
