Disappointing if you're interested in computer careers

We ordered this book based on the title and the very recent publication date, so there were no reviews yet. We're looking for up-to-date information about computer careers because things change quickly and the training pathways are not very clear. Although this book has a lot of information, only 8 of the 100 careers mentioned in the title (or, 22 of 393 pages) have anything to do with computers: computer and information system managers; computer control programmers and operators; computer programmers; computer scientists and database administrators; computer software engineers; computer support specialists and systems administrators; computer system analysts; and computer, automated teller and office machine repairers. No real mention of website design or systems security, and some of the information is repetitive. Also, for UK readers, know that the statistical data is all from American sources. I'm not saying there isn't some useful information available, but the title is misleading. It would be better to use the public library's copy if you can. Read more
