Digital Portfolios In Teacher Education

Today's K-12 teachers have come to reply on student portfolios as tools of assessment. In addition, teachers facing the interview process have found success in proving their teaching and assessment skills by providing professional portfolios. Here the authors describe the theories behind portfolio-based assessment, the role of portfolios in teacher education, the rationale for moving portfolios into a digital format, the place of standards in education and how they shape a portfolio, and practical methods and examples to use in creating a teaching portfolio.
