Grade 7 Up—This is a great book for students writing reports and for those who have an interest in the topic. Kafka does a fine job of presenting differing opinions-and historical background-on such subjects as whether or not homosexuality is inborn or mutable, gay marriage, and so on, although the argument for gay rights comes across more strongly. Divided into five chapters, including "Gay Rights in the Schools" and "Gay Families," the material is accessible, and a thorough index helps readers find specifics. The book has color photos, illustrations, and interesting text boxes, making for a pleasing layout.—Sharon Senser, Oakland Public Library, CA Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc.
